Converts numeric or string expression to 64-bit integer (LongInt)

result = CLngInt( numeric expression )

result = CLngInt( user defined type )

Parameters

expression
a numeric, string, or pointer expression to cast to a LongInt value
datatype
any numeric, string, or pointer data type
typename
a user defined type

Return Value

A LongInt value.

Description

The CLngInt function rounds off the decimal part and returns a 64-bit LongInt value. The function does not check for an overflow, and results are undefined for values which are less than -9 223 372 036 854 775 808 or larger than 223 372 036 854 775 807#.

The name can be explained as 'Convert to LoNG INTeger'.

If the argument is a string expression, it is converted to numeric by using
ValLng.
