BLENDER WHITE BREAD

3 1/4 - 3 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

Place 1 1/2 cups of the flour and yeast in blender container.
Switch on and off to combine.
Heat milk, shortening, sugar and salt just until warm, stirring until shortening is melted.
Add to dry ingredients in blender.
Add egg, blending at low speed until combined.
Blend at high speed until smooth, only 4 to 5 seconds.

Pour into a mixing bowl. Stir in enough flour to make a moderately stiff dough.
Cover and let rise until double, about 45 minutes.
Punch down.
Turn onto lightly floured surface; let rest 10 minutes.
Shape loaf.
Put in a greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan.
Let rise until double.
Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
Yield: 1 loaf.
