Baked Beans

1 1/2 cups dry great northern beans
1/2 cup reserved been cooking liquid
1 tbs tomato paste
1 large onion, sliced thinly
1 tbs cider vinegar
2 tbs molasses or maple syrup
1 tsp dry mustard
pinch cayenne pepper
salt to taste

Soak beans overnight in wter to cover; drain. Combine with 3
1/2 cups fresh water in large saucepan. Bring to boil, lower
het and simmer for 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Drain, reserving the bean
cooking liquid.

Preheat oven 350F. Combine all ingredients in a baking disha
and stir well. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30
minutes more.
