| | Description: | Address Book is a small program that stores data files that contain names, addresses, and telephone numbers. The program creates a tiny data file for each person. This file has the same name as the first name of the person. A caution statement embedded in the program prevents erasing over existing files with the same name. The user can add one letter after the first name (suitable for abbreviating middle name). The program generates file extensions that end with .phn. There is no limit on how many data files can be made. There are four choices in the title screen...one to create a file, one to open a file, one to quit the program, and one to view the current directory.

| | Download: | addy_1_4.zip(Dec 21 1999, 34.5K)
| | Description: | Addy v1.4 is a simple address book. Uses DATA-filename encryption for a more secure form of content separation. Use to create an address directory that can easily replace all of those post-it notes that hang inside of the cupboards at your house. There are convenient features such as DOS-based printing capabilities and an editor which prompts for information and automatically organizes it and writes to a file with a unique name.Also, the 'view' function of the program allows a smart string search for all results that can match the base characters you supply. If you no longer need certain data listed in the directory, Addy lets you remove as many entries as you can vaguely describe. In other words, if you have 70 people in your directory whose names begin with the letter 'A', you can input that single letter in the 'remove' function, and press 'Y' to verify and confirm each.

| | Requires: | Any C++ compiler should do.
| | Email: | herve.gourmelon@enssat.fr
| | Download: | cdbfile.zip(Mar 25 1997, 90.8K)
| | Description: | CDBFile is a C++ object-oriented package for programmers who need to manipulate dBASE III files in their programs. It enables you to perform many operations on an existing DBF file: reading/writing to it, accessing its values, sorting the records, adding/deleting records, etc. It comes with full text and postscript documentation, and commented source code. A demonstration program, TestDBF, shows the various possibilities of the CDBFile library, and its source file, testdbf.cpp, demonstrates how to implement CDBFile within a program. CDBFile was designed to be as portable as possible: you should be able to compile it under "as is" any DOS/Windows C++ compiler; porting it to Un*x/Linux should also require little effort. Since CDBFile is distributed under the GNU Public License for libraries, I hope that programmers will like it and suggest or implement enhance- ments and additional features to that piece of software.

Editing and printing either the whole record or just the address label can be done from anywhere in the program.

| | Author: | Simone Govoni

| | Download: | dbt111.zip(Nov 24 1997, 15.9K)
| | Description: | dBTAB v1.11 is a software designed to convert a DBF file to an ASCII file. It can be used to produce text files with fields delimited by TAB (ASCII #9) characters; these text files can be imported into a word processor's documents and then converted into tables using features included in all the major word-processing programs. The dBTAB's user interface is command-line oriented and requires very few resources to run. dBTAB's output can be customized using a user defined mask supplied on the command line. The user can choose to include in the ASCII report only a subset of the DBF's fields. Dates can be included in the report using the four digits year format, avoiding the well known "Year 2000" problem. dBTAB may filter out records marked as "deleted".

| | Description: | DXT (DBASE Exploration Tools) consists of DFT (DBASE Function Tree Generator). DFT analyses DBASE, CLIPPER and FOXBASE source code of applications, no matter how big or complex, and is useful to explore unknown software and to support software reuse and maintenance. By scanning and analyzing the source code, DFT builds an internal representation of the function call hierarchy relations. Several features and options allow the user to customize the generated hierarchy tree chart output and to get a large set of useful informations about the source code. The results can be stored in a database and recalled later. The recall utility can be integrated into editors like BRIEF or MicroEMACS (DOS, Windows) and provides a hypertext-like feeling for function locating. The output calltree can be generated as HTML- and as RTF-file Windows Help).DXT is part of the SXT Software Exploration Tools which provide similar source code analysis features for C (CXT), DBASE (DXT), FORTRAN (FXT), JAVA (JXT) and LISP (LXT).

| | Description: | ICCA, an Inventory Control and Cost Analysis program, is actually the combination of two previously seperate programs developed for a large chain of nightclubs. The Inventory portion of ICCA is flexible enough to be useful to a wide array of businesses, especially if their inventory is scattered in multiple locations. The Cost Analysis portion, however, will only be useful to a bar operator. It calculates Cost of Sales, Cost per Serving, Serving Size and Overs & Shorts for both bulk and prepackaged items.ICCA requires no special environmental settings. It will run on all but the earliest versions of DOS (MS, DR and/or IBM). It will run on an 8088 or better processor. It requires less than 512k free memory to be fully functional. It is compiled using a network model, so it should be shareable on any DOS-based network. All examples, explanations and documentation are provided via the context sensitive Help System from within the program.

| | Description: | IDDEMO v1.1 is the demonstration version of the increment/ decrement UDF's written by Meschke Development and Homegrown Data Systems. These functions will allow the dBASE programmer to increment or decrement memory or field variables of any type with a single call statement. Leap years are handled correctly, and the routines are year 2000 compliant. Alpha fields and numbers are done with user defined rules. The code can be used under dBase IV or V for DOS or Windows. For complete details print the file manual.doc (Word 6) or manual.txt (plain text).

| | Description: | Inventory for DOS v1.1 is a small inventory program which allows a user to create inventories of different types and sizes, containing different quantities of different parts. The user can append the inventories and print them for their records. Inventory for DOS 1.1 has been refined, fixing all fatal bugs, and adding user-friendliness. Useful in homes or small businesses, this program is small, so it won't eat up your precious HD space or memory. Handles an almost unlimited number of inventories, each one holding up to 20 items (expanded from 15 before; this will improve).

| | Description: | LibrHire is a rental management system for use by libraries, video clubs and similar organizations that hire out books, video and audio tapes. Various management reports facilitate delegation and control. LibrHire automatically calculates due dates, if an item is due on a public or non working day, it will increment the due date so that a late penalty fee will not be charged. You can print a report that gives you details of items that have not been returned by a certain date. You can also print a Top 20 selling list. LibrHire can export stock item details from one branch to the other, useful where you have a centralised distribution point. You can also copy stock item details from one to the other, useful where you have got more than one copy of a popular title - you enter details on one stock item and then copy the same details to other stock items. You can design and print labels for your stock items and customer details. Powerful customer name search function enables you to search for customer names that sound like your search query, eg, a search for "Dagls" will yield results "Dagilas", "Dougals", "Douglas". You can define up to six different hire rates, as well as a fixed term contract. LibrHire also handles casual hirers. lbhr24.zip has replaced lbhr23_a.zip and lbhr23b.zip.
